Visit the CleanProjects Registry™ to view details about organizations and the projects they have completed to reduce GHG emissions. These reductions are serialized and available for use as offsets by your organization. The CleanProjects Registry itself is a registry of projects and VERRs and not a trading platform or marketplace for offsets. In order to acquire the VERRs from the project proponents you will need to contact them directly to discuss transfer of ownership of VERRs for use as offsets.
There are also a number of private companies specializing in sourcing and selling VERRs for use as carbon offsets on the voluntary market. Brokers may also play this role.
Organizations should choose the source of GHG offsets carefully as there is an ongoing debate in civil society about the value of some of GHG offsets generated in voluntary markets. Most program authorities have a system to ensure that GHG emission reductions have been correctly and consistently quantified and many require some form of third party verification of calculated emission reductions and removals. A project report that is consistent with a recognised standard such as ISO 14064-2 and has had the project verified in accordance with a standard such as ISO 14064-3 is likely to be reporting emissions reductions and removals which are accurate and consistent.
