Calculators

Please note while these calculators are based on best practices, they are generic and are not precise enough for generating verified emissions reductions. In order to create verified emission reductions for sale in the voluntary carbon market, processes and procedures as laid out in the ISO 14064 set of standards need to be followed. For more information on this, please see the Project Toolbox tab.

These calculators are intended to provide groups and businesses with an estimate of GHG emissions from specific activities as a first step towards reducing GHG emissions and purchasing verified emissions reductions to offset remaining emissions.

Please note as well, in making a commitment to go carbon neutral or making a claim of carbon neutrality, GHG emissions estimations and calculations need to be transparent and available to the public for review.

Conference Calculator

Conferences are carbon-intensive events. Participants often travel long distances, and food and accommodation also contribute to conference carbon footprint. There are decisions made by conference-planners and participants that can minimize the carbon footprint of a conference. Complete the Conference Calculator to find the carbon footprint of a conference.

Commercial Building Energy Calculator

The Commercial Building Energy Calculator allows you to estimate the carbon footprint associated with a building. Buildings require energy for heating, cooling, lighting and the operations of business equipment and other operations.
