Excise Tax Exemption for Ethanol and Methanol
The purpose of this program is to encourage the development and marketing of ethanol and methanol made from biomass. This program provides a 100 percent exemption from the $0.10/L federal excise gas tax on gasoline for ethanol and methanol made from biomass that is blended with gasoline. Ethanol Production Grant
The Ethanol Production Grant will run for a total of eight years. For the first two years (2008 & 2009), Manitoba ethanol producers will receive 20¢/litre of ethanol produced and sold in Manitoba to fuel suppliers, followed by 15¢/litre for the next three years (2010-2012), and 10¢/litre for the remaining three years (2013-2015) of the incentive program.

Chillers typically consume more electricity than any other single energy-consuming device in a large commercial building. Incentives are available for chiller replacements and variable speed drive retrofits.

Manitoba Conservation - Sustainable Development Innovations Funds (SDIF)
The SDIF provides funding for the development, implementation and promotion of environmental innovation and sustainable development projects delivered by local governments, industry, community and youth groups, Aboriginal organizations, and First Nation communities. Grants are provided through several priority program areas. Proposed projects must address one or more priority area and achieve or demonstrate measurable progress toward achieving the fund`s objectives. They must also be environmentally and ecologically sound, promote a sustainable approach, have clear environmental benefits and take into account benefits to the community and the economy. Projects should also demonstrate the involvement of youth where possible.
