The Home Insulation Program offers information and rebates to homeowners who add insulation to their existing home.

The best time to install energy efficient systems is during construction of your new home. You will save energy, reduce your energy bills, enjoy more comfort, and your home will produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

Manitoba Hydro and the Manitoba Society of Seniors (MSOS) are working together to help Winnipeg seniors 55+ save energy and money.

Purchase ENERGY STAR qualified lighting and related energy saving devices and receive rebates ranging from $1 to $25 on your Manitoba Hydro energy bill.

Install a CAN/CSA-C448 compliant earth-energy system (ground or water source), and the Government of Canada will give you a $3500 rebate.

Replace the heat pump unit of an existing earth-energy system (ground or water source) and the Government of Canada will give you a $1400 rebate. Note: The system must be compliant with CAN/CSA-C448.

Install an ENERGY STAR® qualified air-source heat pump, and the Government of Canada will give you a $400 rebate.

Install a minimum of 5 electronic thermostats for electric baseboard heaters and the Government of Canada will give you a $30 rebate. Note: Electric baseboards must be the primary system.

Get a $300 rebate from the Government of Canada for replacing your wood-burning appliance with a model that meets either CSA-B415.1-M92 or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wood-burning appliance standards (40 CFR Part 60) or with a wood pellet stove (including stoves that burn corn, grains or cherry pits).

Install a heat recovery ventilator that is certified by the Home Ventilating Institute.

Replace your central air-conditioning system with an ENERGY STAR® qualified SEER 14 system (complete system replacement, including any indoor and outdoor components).

Replace your window air conditioner(s) with ENERGY STAR® qualified unit(s).

Install a solar domestic hot water system that meets CAN/CSA Standards.

Replace your domestic hot water heater with an instantaneous gas water heater that has an energy factor (EF) of 0.80 or a thermal efficiency of 90 percent or better.

Replace your domestic hot water heater with a condensing water heater that has an EF of 0.80 or better.

Install a drain-water heat recovery (DWHR) system with an efficiency between 30 and 42 percent, and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of $75. Note: Grants are based on the efficiency of the pipe installed.

Install a drain-water heat recovery (DWHR) system with an efficiency between 43 and 54 percent, and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of $130. Note: Grants are based on the efficiency of the pipe installed.

Cover 100% of your attic to achieve a total minimum insulation value of RSI 7 (R-40), and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $400.

Cover 100% of your attic to achieve a total minimum insulation value of RSI 8.8 (R-50), and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $600.

Cover 100% of your flat roof and/or cathedral ceiling to achieve a total minimum insulation value of RSI 5 (R-28), and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $600.

Cover 100% of your uninsulated flat roof and/or cathedral ceiling by a minimum of RSI 1.8 (R-10), and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $400.

Cover at least 20% of your exterior wall in insulation to a minimum of R3.8, and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $1500.

Insulate your exposed floor (minimum of 150 square feet is necessary) and increase all of its insulation value by a minimum of RSI 3.5 (R-20), and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of $150.

Insulate at least 20% of your basement`s exterior wall surface area, and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $1000.

Insulate 100% of your crawlspace`s total wall surface, and the Government of Canada will give you a rebate of up to $800.
