Once the GHG emissions reductions have been reported to the CleanProjects registry the tonnes of CO2e reductions reported are serialized and tracked. At this point they can be sold on an appropriate market. This could include the voluntary market where organizations that have chosen to become carbon neutral seek offsets, or on a regulated market which recognizes the GHG emissions reductions that have been created. In order to sell GHG emissions reductions, the owner of the GHG emissions reductions, usually the project proponent, needs to contact a carbon broker. Carbon brokers specialize in bringing buyers and sellers of GHG emissions reductions together.
